The drum granulator is a commonly used granulating equipment in the production lines of organic and compound fertilizers. Proper installation and commissioning can improve the balling rate and reduce the probability of malfunctions.
Installation Phase: Pour the foundation according to the foundation drawing, leaving holes for anchor bolts. After hoisting and positioning, adjust the cylinder inclination angle (typically 2°-4°), level the support wheels and guide wheels to ensure concentric rotation of the cylinder. Tighten the anchor bolts, connect the wiring and spray pipe, inspect the transmission components such as gears and support wheels, apply lubricating grease, and install all safety protective covers.
Debugging process: First conduct a no-load test run for 30 minutes to check for abnormal noises, vibrations, or misalignments, ensuring even force distribution on the rollers. After confirming normal no-load operation, proceed with a load test by controlling the drum rotation speed and adjusting the spray water volume. Fine-tune the inclination angle and feed rate based on material moisture levels and pellet formation effects to stabilize the granulation process, then record the optimal parameters.
Operation Precautions: Clear debris inside the cylinder before startup to prevent iron or hard objects from entering the chamber. During operation, do not open the cover for inspection or touch rotating parts. Maintain proper moisture content in the material—excess moisture causes wall sticking, while insufficient moisture hinders ball formation. Regularly check bearing and reducer temperatures, and replenish lubrication promptly. When stopping, cease feeding first, then empty the cylinder before shutting down. For long-term inactivity, clean adhered material from the cylinder walls and perform anti-corrosion maintenance.
Routine standardized maintenance ensures stable production of the drum granulator, extends equipment lifespan, and reduces downtime repair costs
