During the rainy season, frequent continuous rainfall prompts people to store organic fertilizer fermentation equipment in designated locations as usual. However, when retrieving the equipment after the rain, they often find it rusted, with some mechanical parts aged and others damp. Therefore, addressing these issues is crucial—how to properly store and maintain organic fertilizer fermentation equipment during prolonged rainy weather to prevent such damage. Below, we’ll share tips on maintaining organic fertilizer fermentation equipment in rainy conditions
1. Prevent iron parts from rusting. Most components of the currently used organic fertilizer fermentation equipment are made of iron. Poor storage during rainy days can easily cause rust, shortening the service life. The parts should be disassembled, coated with anti-rust paint, and stored in a ventilated, dry place.
2. Prevent rubber parts from aging. When the rubber components of organic fertilizer fermentation equipment become damp or contaminated with oil, they are prone to aging and cracking, which shortens their service life. During storage, the front and rear axles of the equipment should be jacked up with a jack or wooden blocks to keep the tires off the ground, ensuring they are not subjected to load.
3. Prevent the motor from getting damp. If the motor of the organic fertilizer equipment is not used for a long time, it should be stored in a ventilated, dry, and clean warehouse. Placing the organic fertilizer fermentation equipment in a wet area with chemical fertilizers or a location prone to rain exposure can cause the motor to absorb moisture, degrade insulation performance, and lead to short circuits, leakage, sparking, or even coil burnout.
